Attention Cider and Mead Brewers
SABSOSA have arranged a pathway for Cider and Mead Brewers to enter the 2018 competition. The experienced cider and mead judges from the Australian National Amateur Wine and Beer Show (ANAWBS) will kindly judge these entries.
Brewers are advised of the following:
- Entries must be submitted to the ANAWBS competition using their entry form located at the ANAWBS website
- Entry and registration fees for cider and mead must be paid to ANAWBS. These fees are set by ANAWBS and not by SABSOSA.
- State clearly the AABC style you are entering and that it is for SABSOSA.
- The ANAWBS judging decisions are final. SABSOSA does not have involvement in judging for this competition and we expect that entrants will respect ANAWBS.
- 1st, 2nd & 3rd placegetters will be invited to enter the Australian Amateur Brewing Competition.

SABSOSA 2017 has been run and won after two great days of judging!
Thank you so much to the volunteers who judged, stewarded and scored. Many hands made light work of the 285 entries we received.
The placing results are now available at www.sabsosa.com/bc and the full results list will be released after our presentation ceremony on 17th September 2017 which will be held at The Wheatsheaf Hotel at 12:30pm
Judging sheets are available to download now at www.sabsosa.com/bc by logging into your user account and clicking on the “gavel” icon next to your entry list.
This year SABSOSA is using the Brew Competition Online Entry & Management System that the South Australian Brewing Club (SABC) has used. The systems are separate so you will need to login and create a new account.
Go to www.sabsosa.com/bc to set up an account and begin entering your beers. The program will create a label that needs to be printed and attached to each entry with a rubber band.
Payment via PayPal will be deposited to the South Australian Brewing Club (SABC) account. SABSOSA would like to thank SABC for their assistance. A portion of the PayPal fee will be donated to SABC to promote homebrewing and assist with judging education.

The AABC along with the State qualifying competitions have updated the style guidelines for 2017. There are now 109 beer styles across 18 categories – 25 more beer styles than the last couple of years!
SABSOSA will adopt these new style guidelines immediately so brewers can organise their brewing schedules. See the Guidelines page for full details and downloads.
